Porlock Good Neighbour Scheme

We are pleased to let you know that the Porlock Good Neighbour Scheme is now operational!

The phone line is manned daily (including weekends) from 10.00am – 5.00pm and there will be an answer phone outside of these hours.

If you need help with any of the following activities or even just a friendly chat in these difficult times please call 07871 925910:

Emergency shopping

Collecting prescriptions

Supplying emergency meals

Emergency dog walking

Emergency looking after a dog (eg if owner rushed to hospital)

Library book exchange

Clearing snow or removing fallen tree branches

Befriending an individual

Delivering emergency medical supplies (eg oxi-meter).

The Good Neighbour Scheme will work in the same way as PALS, if you have something you need help with please call 07871 925910 and provide your details and then a suitable volunteer will respond to your request.

During the current pandemic the volunteers will not enter any premises and can only provide the activities listed at this time.

This scheme is a permanent arrangement and further activities will be added in due course.

We have a list of volunteers but are always pleased to have more. Volunteers can always decline a request for any reason.

We know that most people already have their own good neighbours, but circumstances change and if you feel you need help with anything please contact the above number.

If you have any questions at all please let me know.
